Maritime Engineering

Jetties and Wharfs

Jetties and wharfs serve as vital connections between the land and water, providing access for ships and boats, in turn allowing people, cargo and suppliers to transit with ease and efficiency. Whilst providing practical purpose, including the prevention of erosion from currents, waves, and tides, both stimulate local economies and maintain heritage value.

The development of Maritime Structures often is challenging as they must be designed to be functional with the effects of storms, waves, winds, currents and berthing energy. JHK will work with prospective Clients to prepare Jetties to suit their purpose in terms of the requirements of AS 4997 and relevant requirements of authorities and Councils. JHK have participated in projects covering aspects of Project management, inspection and certification, conceptual design, investigation and reporting, Contract Administration & Supervision, Design of Reinforced Concrete Jetty on Structural Steel Piles, Hardwood jetties on Hardwood piles, Wharf restoration works, and Civil Naval support structures. In addition to Engineering Design Consultancy services, we also offer an extensive service in planning such as preparation of documentation for Permission to Lodge, Development Applications and Review of Environmental Factors, Contract Administration, Site Investigation and Design Reports and certification.
