Maritime Engineering

Sea Walls

Seawalls are coastal structures separating land and water, serving as a barrier against erosion and flooding on the shoreline. Accordingly, they protect land structures, promote individual safety, enable human habitation, and minimise environmental damage.

The development of Maritime Structures often is challenging as they must be designed to be functional with the effects of storms, waves, winds, currents and berthing energy. Sea Wall Designs are essential to the protection of structures from damage relating to wave and current forces from seas, rivers and other water courses. JHK have participated in projects covering aspects of Project management, inspection and certification, conceptual design, investigation and reporting, Contract Administration & Supervision, Concept Design, design development, detailed design, documentation, and construction procedure, inspection and certification of seawalls constructed of sandstone, stabilized engineered block walls, cantilevered RC walls and King Pile and RC panel systems, Investigation and preparation of condition survey for seawalls, Repair and demolition plans, Feasibility study for foreshore protection works and coast engineering design. In addition to Engineering Design Consultancy services, we also offer an extensive service in planning such as preparation of documentation for Permission to Lodge, Development Applications and Review of Environmental Factors, Contract Administration, Site Investigation and Design Reports and certification.
